  • From the moment of discharge you must remain on home rest for the first two days after surgery. Avoid physical exertion, such as lifting weights for a month.
  • You may not drive any kind of vehicle or use dangerous machinery until 72 hours after surgery. You can not drink alcoholic beverages until after the first three days.
  • Avoid talking for the first 72 hours and then avoid long conversations for a week. When you do start talking avoid straining your voice, as well as cooing. Avoid the telephone.
  • Avoid dusty, smoky and noisy environments. Muscle aches in the arms, legs and trunk are normal; they disappear in a few days.
  • Normal diet.
  • Normal, slightly bland diet. For pain, take the indicated painkillers.
  • If you were taking aspirin or other anti-aggregants before the procedure, consult your doctor about the time to restart treatment.

  • In case of fever higher than 38° go to the emergency room or contact your doctor, as well as in case of very severe pain, significant “swelling” of the neck or difficulty breathing.
