  • From the moment of discharge, you must remain on home rest for the first 24 hours after the operation and relative rest for the first two days after the operation. Avoid physical exertion, such as lifting weights for ten days.
  • You can not drive any kind of vehicles or use dangerous machinery until 24 hours after the intervention.
  • You can not drink alcoholic beverages until after the first three days.
  • Avoid talking for the first 72 hours and then avoid long conversations for a week. When you begin to speak, avoid straining your voice, as well as whispering. Avoid the telephone.
  • Avoid dusty, smoky and noisy environments.
  • It is normal to feel some numbness in the tongue at times. If you have mobility in any of your teeth, eat a soft diet and consult your dentist.
  • Muscle aches in the arms, legs and trunk are normal; they disappear in a few days.
  • Drink plenty of fluids (approximately 2 liters of water per day).
  • Normal, slightly soft diet.
  • For pain, take the indicated painkillers.
  • In case of fever higher than 38ºC, go to the emergency room or contact your doctor, as well as in case of very intense pain or respiratory difficulty.
